New York Health Act

The New York Health Act (S.4048) has passed the state assembly for the last four years, but has always stalled in the state senate. It will establish universal health coverage for all New Yorkers.

The Campaign for New York Health has many resources on their site. Health care providers can join Physicians for A National Health Program‘s New York chapter.

Write Your Reps

Write to your assembly member, state senator and Governor Cuomo.

Please support the New York Health Act and ensure that all New York families get the health care they need.

Are you a member of a union?

One of the biggest groups opposing universal health care for New York state includes a few unions, including the Sergeants Benevolent Association and the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York. Union leaders are worried that it will mean that potential members will have fewer incentives to join. If you are a union member, please bring up your support for the New York Health Act to your union leaders. All families deserve great healthcare, and union membership still has great benefits beyond healthcare. Your union leaders should be out in front of this issue.
